Who also arrived in November and spent the whole month contributing with the project was João Heriberto, a Biology student from the Universidade Regional do Cariri (Ceará). João spent the last 3 years collaborating with the PhD project of Milene Gaiotti, who studied the breeding biology of the astonishing Araripe manakin (Antilophia bokermanni), an endemic and highly threatened species of the Chapada do Araripe (Ceará). In one month, we found nearly 30 nests!

In December, Silvander Mendes joined our team too during 1 week. We started exploring the gallery forests of another river nearby (Córrego da Onça), but which is somehow more degraded.
